Our Top 5 Burger Recipes for Labor Day Barbecues
We think the best ingredients for a memorable Labor Day celebration are friends, family, and elevated, perfectly grilled foods that impress. For a good old-fashioned American cookout, you can’t go wrong with a burger-focused menu. Check out our guide to grilling the perfect burger for tips on everything from selecting your meat, to getting a flavorful crust on each patty. Our top tip? The best burgers are cooked on our Hybrid Fire Grill, over a charcoal fire – that will give you the dry heat you need to get an excellent crust.
Take your Labor Day grilling menu to the next level with one (or more!) of our top five favorite burger recipes. And don’t forget the sides – grilled corn on the cob is a classic late-summer choice, or upgrade the common French fry with our grill-roasted fingerling fries.
If you only make one burger for summer’s last grilling holiday, this one is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. The 85% lean ground beef has the perfect amount of fat to give it a juicy texture, while the decadent toppings – bacon, blue brie, grilled red onions, and a homemade rosemary aioli – make it extra luscious and just a little bit fancier than your average burger.
Buffalo wings are a classic American favorite, and we think you’ll love this sandwich variation. Mixing blue cheese and a homemade buffalo sauce into the chicken patties guarantees major flavor in every bite. Just add celery seed-infused mayonnaise plus dried cayenne pepper and hot sauce to taste for an incredible Labor Day chicken burger!
Grilled Buffalo Chicken Burgers
This is our favorite salmon burger, and it’s a great pescatarian option for your Labor Day barbecue. The spice from the chipotle pepper in the patty is balanced nicely by the cooling blend of cream cheese, crème fraîche and lime juice.
Chipotle Salmon Burgers with Cilantro Lime Cream
Here’s a slider recipe for the adventurous Labor Day griller! A generous smear of peanut butter on the bottom of a soft Hawaiian roll will melt as soon as you top it with the warm patty. Homemade jalapeno jelly on top, plus grilled bacon, add the perfect combination of sweet, spicy and salty.
Peanut Butter Sliders with Jalapeno Jelly
This recipe is one of our all time favorites. These sliders are our no-fail standby at nearly every grill demonstration and customer party. We like to make sliders over regular-sized hamburgers because we can build a super-thick patty that’s still a manageable size for one person. We use 1/4lb of ground beef, rather than the standard 1/2lb a burger. The secret to these delicious sliders has to be the Cambozola cheese, which is a triple cream blue brie from Germany. It makes a classic, tasty combination with grilled red onion and a fresh pretzel bun.
