Sunset–Sunrise House

By Square Three Architecture

Set within the quiet drama of the desert, the Sunset–Sunrise House is a home shaped by light, horizon and a deep connection to its surroundings. Designed by Square Three Architecture, the residence embraces the daily arc of the sun—framing both daybreak and dusk through expansive glazing and carefully oriented spaces. The result is a modern retreat that feels at once grounded and open, refined and serene.

Built by Godby Construction, the home is crafted with precision, restraint and a sensitivity to natural materials. Clean lines and warm finishes create continuity between interior and exterior living areas, allowing the architecture to unfold seamlessly across the site. Outdoors, the landscape architecture team at Thuilot Associates introduced sculptural plantings and thoughtful circulation paths that echo the home’s geometry while softening its edges. The landscape becomes both a visual anchor and an extension of daily life.

At the heart of the outdoor living space is a fully equipped kitchen centered around the Kalamazoo Hybrid Fire Grill. Chosen for its versatility and performance, the grill allows for everything from high-temperature searing to long, slow cooks—perfect for the kind of relaxed, experiential living the home was built to support. Integrated cabinetry and generous counter space create a kitchen that functions as beautifully as it looks, encouraging gatherings that flow naturally from indoors to out.

The Sunset–Sunrise House is a testament to quiet sophistication: architecture that honors its environment, craftsmanship that prioritizes longevity and outdoor spaces designed to bring people together. We’re proud to see Kalamazoo equipment play a role in such a thoughtful, beautifully executed home.
