This spectacular two-story outdoor living space in Brecksville, OH features two separate Kalamazoo outdoor kitchens that complement the home’s truly original “modern cabin” style. Landscape architect Pat Beam of 9th Avenue Designs worked with Dimit Architects and the homeowner to create the stunning layout. The architects used ipe wood throughout to complement the unique mix of glass and stone featured in the home. Planned for more than seven years, this newly built home’s outdoor space was designed to provide the family with the ultimate in convenience and entertaining options.

Located next to the pool and bocce court, one of the outdoor kitchens and bar is equipped with all of the essentials for hosting large gatherings. A double-tap keg tapper and ice maker eliminate the need to haul drinks back and forth to the indoor kitchen upstairs, a huge convenience during parties. Glasses and cooking tools stay stocked close at hand year-round with weather-tight Signature Series cabinetry.

The L-shaped outdoor kitchen is conveniently located just off the great room and indoor kitchen while offering relaxing views of the forest just beyond the property. A Kalamazoo Hybrid Fire grill is the powerhouse of the kitchen which the family grillmaster chose so that he could easily cook with wood, charcoal, or gas on just one grill. An Artisan Fire Pizza Oven sits by the grill and gets a lot of use on family pizza night. Even during cold midwestern winters; a 3-minute cook time ensures that nobody is waiting long for a pizza to be ready. Perpendicular to the cooking equipment, a large countertop provides room for preparing food and plating.

A glass-front refrigerator and convenient cabinetry add valuable storage space that looks sleek and seamless alongside the cooking equipment. Nearby, a stash of wood is kept at the ready for wood-fired meals on the grill. With a comfortable, covered dining area that seats eight, this “weeknight kitchen” has become a beloved hangout space for casual family meals.

Originally drawn to the performance and versatility of Kalamazoo’s grills and pizza oven, the homeowner ultimately decided to incorporate Kalamazoo cabinetry and refrigeration into the kitchen to create a matching aesthetic. The result is a functional and thoughtfully-designed outdoor space that is perfect for large parties or intimate family dinners and a lifetime of memories.
