Kalamazoo Quebracho Charcoal is Now Available!
The world’s best outdoor cooking appliances deserve the highest quality charcoal, and now you can get both from Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet. We’re excited to announce that our Kalamazoo Quebracho Charcoal - declared the best our grillmaster has ever used - is now officially available for purchase!
Grillmaster Russ Faulk has exacting standards when it comes to charcoal. “For years, I’ve gone out of my way to purchase my charcoal (for use at home and in our culinary center) from the restaurant supply store. That was the only place I could get my favorite brand. Once I tried Quebracho charcoal, however, the game changed,” Russ says.
Quebracho Blanco, or “axe-breaker” wood, is 40% harder than typical hardwood lump charcoal woods and burns hotter and longer than both briquettes and other 100% hardwood lump charcoals. “This stuff is denser, burns hotter and lasts longer than the charcoal I had been recommending for years. It leaves very little ash. And, somehow, it throws off less sparks,” Russ says.
Just like our outdoor cooking appliances, Kalamazoo Quebracho Charcoal is completely hand-made. The sustainably harvested wood is hand-picked, hand-cut, and hand-fired in brick kilns before being packaged. Read more about our Quebracho Charcoal or order your own 35-lb bag now!
Kalamazoo Quebracho Charcoal is ideal for all types of grilling and smoking sessions on our Hybrid Fire Grill and in our Smoker Cabinet. Quebracho Charcoal’s hotter burn temperature makes it ideal for searing, while the longer burn time is perfect for roasting and smoking. We recommend using premium Kalamazoo Quebracho Charcoal to enhance the following recipes:
Smoke-Roasted Long Bone Ribeyes
The mild flavor Quebracho Charcoal allows the steak seasoning to really shine, while the intense heat creates a delicious crust on the outside of the meat.
Ultimate Burgers
The searing dry heat made possible by our Quebracho Charcoal creates an incredible Maillard effect on the meat’s surface, resulting in an intensely flavorful burger.
Classic Smoked Beef Brisket
Hands down, the ultimate smoked meat is a perfectly cooked brisket. With 21 hours of smoking time, make sure your investment in this barbecue classic pays off by using the best charcoal on the market!
