Set along the shoreline, Dunelands is shaped by its landscape and its relationship to the water. In this episode, Kevin Toukoumidis of dSPACE Studio shares the thinking behind the home and how the outdoor space was designed to extend how it’s lived in.
The project moves between interior and exterior without separation, with the outdoor kitchen positioned as part of that continuity. Moments of cooking, gathering and time spent outside are treated as essential to the overall design, not added to it.
The result is a space defined by its setting, its restraint and how it’s used—where Kalamazoo is integrated into a broader environment built for living outdoors.
